Read:

Isolation is where pain grows strongest. Shame convinces us to hide, and hiding allows wounds to deepen. God’s design for healing has always involved bringing struggles into the light. When we share our pain with safe people and bring it before God, healing begins to spread. Light breaks the cycle of isolation and creates space for restoration.

Think about it like an open wound: the longer it’s hidden, the more it can fester. The same is true for the hurts and struggles in our hearts. They aren’t meant to stay buried—they're meant to be brought into the open, cared for, and healed.

Sometimes simply talking to a friend or sharing your pain with God in prayer can bring you out of isolation. Other times, you might need someone more specialized in walking through pain, like a pastor or a counselor. But any step taken toward shedding light on your struggle is a step toward healing. Where is isolation allowing your pain to go unchecked? Who can you bring your pain to so you can begin to heal?

Pray: God, give me the courage to step out of hiding. Lead me to safe people who can walk with me. Use honesty and community to begin healing in my life. Amen.
